Genesis 2:4–3:24

The one thing they couldn't have was the only thing they wanted.

Adam and Eve have everything — a garden, each other, unbroken closeness with God. There's only one rule: don't eat from that tree. A serpent appears with a question that changes everything: Did God really say...? The fruit is eaten. Eyes are opened. And suddenly they're hiding — from each other, from God, from what they've done. By nightfall, the garden they were made for becomes the garden they're exiled from.
